Juda is much more than a coach.  She’s a listener and a believer.  She listens to your goals provides realistic feedback and provides the evidence-based support to show you that you are better than you think you are.  She put together a plan for my 2016 Chicago Marathon that had me run more volume and quality than I had in my previous 10 years of running.  I was challenged, healthy and most of all prepared to succeed.   If you commit, Juda’s approach will get you where you want to go.  I owe my 16 minute PR to Juda!

For the year and a half that Juda has been coaching me I have set personal records in the 5k, 10k, half marathon and marathon.  Her workouts have not only provided structure to my running routine but I feel stronger while running.  I’ve been able to run faster times with less effort.  She knows exactly when to make the workouts harder, but also knows when it needs to be backed off in order for my muscles to heal when they are sore. I could not be happier to have her coaching me and I can’t wait to see what I continue to accomplish through her expertise.

Juda has been coaching me since 2015.   That first year, she coached me for my third Ironman.   That year I set a 25 minute PR in the 70.3 distance and a 43 minute PR in the Ironman.   I could not have done this without her guidance and expertise.

Juda’s infectious positive attitude, her incredible personal experience racing, and her creativity in fitting the training into my hectic schedule made the working relationship productive and very positive.   She came up with some very effective workouts that made it possible for me to get a lot of bang for my hours spent.

Juda also looks at the big picture, not just the data from each workout.  She is always open to making adjustments on the fly as needed when life demands have caused stress on the training.

Additionally, I was lucky to have had Juda on course with me on a few occasions.  She volunteered at an aid station at my Ironman race and has paced me for a couple long distance running races.  In the moment, she’s amazing at pushing without being pushy. He has helped me regroup and come back from the “dark place” on several occasions.

I’m looking forward to another year of racing success under her guidance!

Hi Krista!

I’m just now getting a chance to sit down and email you, but I wanted to say thank you for everything you did to make BSC Camp epic! I had a great time! It was a really great experience for me in so many ways. I enjoyed the challenges and pushing myself, but what really put the weekend over the top were the people. I mostly train by myself or with a couple other crazies, so to have this group of serious, hard core (super nice), really knowledgeable triathletes around me to motivate me, push me and, let’s face it, be role models for how it can be done, was invaluable for me. Not to mention damn fun! So thank you!

It was obvious how much time and energy you put into the planning, organizing, details and logistics of the week, the training and the people. I was continually amazed at everything you were juggling and that you did not once lose your shit!  =) So impressive! So, thank you. Thanks for being the organizer, the calm voice, a motivator, for being super nice and a role model all in one weekend!

Much appreciated!

When I started training with Taryn, I was a total beginner to both swimming and cycling. She created an individualized training plan for me that got me to my first sprint triathlon finish line in less than two months. Every week, she customized the workouts to develop my skillset and build on the week before. Whether it was working on my endurance in the water or my cadence on the bike, I knew that I was maximizing my time with each one of Taryn’s workouts and learning a lot in the process. Despite poor weather conditions on race day, I had a great race and exceeded my expectations. I credit Taryn with preparing me and helping me overcome many beginner fears and worries.

As someone who enjoys understanding the process, I love that Taryn is a wealth of information about all aspects of the sport, both from personal experience and from her studies to be a registered dietitian. She follows up with me and sends me feedback after each one of my workouts, which opens a dialogue on what went well, what didn’t, and what we should think about next. In addition to the actual physical activity of the workout, she helps me analyze my nutrition before, during, and after the workout. And apart from workouts, she also sends me articles and videos to help me appreciate a particular topic or idea. Taryn is extremely easy to communicate with and gives time and thought to even the most mundane of my questions.
I never thought that I could complete a triathlon, and I’m convinced that without Taryn’s guidance and support, it would have been a much, much more difficult road for me. Her positive energy and love for the sport is infectious.
