TeamBSC Triathlon Coaching offers you comprehensive and professional coaching services that are individually tailored to meet your needs.

Before we get started, you can expect to have an initial consultation, either in person or over the phone, where we will talk specifically about your experience in sport, your history, your goals, and your other life commitments. Then, after doing some sport specific testing to find your baselines, I will create individualized weekly training plans for you to follow. Through regular email and phone communication we will be assessing your progress and altering your future training accordingly, putting you in the best possible position to achieve your goals.

I am available on an unlimited basis to help you determine your seasonal racing schedule, including picking appropriate tune-up races along the way to your ‘A’ Goal race(s). I am also happy to consult with you about training and race day nutrition, pacing strategies, injury prevention, time management, and of course, your mindset. I’ve been doing triathlons or parts of triathlons since 2001 and  I’ve always just winged it with my training.  I’ve done 3 Ironmans and Michelle is now training me for my 4th in Coeur d’Alene.  I have never been as fast as I am now.  I’ve known Michelle for about 4 years now – through training and racing together.  Michelle’s extensive experience and expertise have always been clear to me and I am so excited to now have her sharing them with me.  She takes a personal interest in my training and overall well-being as one of her athletes.  She is constantly pushing me to reach beyond my limits and push myself to reach and exceed my potential.  The best part of being coached by Michelle is I know I’m always getting honest feedback.  If I’m ready to go and she knows it, she can get me super stoked on my race and when I’m slacking off……smack down!  Without Michelle’s coaching and expertise, I wouldn’t have made as much progress or be celebrating as many successes as I am now.  Totes amaze!

Training for Ironman can happen one of two ways, and I have experienced both. Either self-guided with good intent to tackle 140.6 miles, or smartly designed for your exact needs to develop as an athlete who performs for 140.6 miles. The latter of the two is exactly what I got thanks to Krista LaPan, and TeamBSC. My hands down favorite perk of being coached by Krista was the time saved from having my workouts planned for me. Additionally, the workouts were not cookie cutter. They were specific to my goals, my schedule, my course and biometrics. I found myself almost craving the instant feedback from Coach K once I uploaded my workout to Training Peaks. Krista’s knowledge and personal drive for triathlon will take you to a new level … no mater what level you are at today!

I have been training with Michelle since May of 2014. I learned about Michelle online and heard great things about her coaching from other tri friends. I decided that I should give her a shot since I wanted to up my game and thought personal coaching would help. Michelle has helped me develop a passion for the sport that will remain with me for the rest of my life, and has improved my ability tremendously in the 2.5 years that we have worked together. In this period she has prepared me for three full IMs, eight half IMs, a slew of marathons, swim races and Oly/sprint tris.

Recently, Michelle has shown great patience, tenacity and creativity in training me in some of the most challenging, inhospitable and unideal environments (Baghdad, Iraq for a year and now Port-au-Prince, Haiti for the past eight months). In these locations, where I can no longer can train with a group or ride my bike on the road, and frequently must swim in 25yd (or smaller) hotel pools, Michelle regularly crafts workouts for me that have not only made me physically stronger, but mentally tougher as well.

Michelle has been extremely understanding since I have had to deal with a Category 4 hurricane in Haiti in October, which shook up my training schedule (and my spirits); she continued to virtually nudge / take out the whip on me to ensure that I was staying on track and not fall into a ‘blob’ state, which would have been very easy to do! Best of all, I now consider Michelle not only a coach, but a dear friend. She is brilliant on so many levels, and a true gem for the sport of triathlon. A total inspiration and a wonderful human being!

Michelle is simply passionate about coaching.  She really cares about her athletes, and manages to pull the best out of us using honest feedback, patience, and a sense of humor.  Her training plans are both challenging and confidence building.  I love finishing a workout and being surprised at what I accomplished.  She goes out of her way to make sure that I understand what she is asking of me, and explains the goal of a workout, exercise, or drill.  Since starting with Simmons Endurance Coaching, every goal race has been a PR.  Michelle has been thrilled at my accomplishments (both in races and workouts) and then gently encourages me to go out and achieve more.  I highly recommend her as a coach!
